Hull FC’s Tom Briscoe is tackled by Leigh’s Josh Charnley.
Hull FC were defeated 32-22 by Leigh Leopards on Saturday evening. The Black and Whites trailed 28-10 at half-time, producing a shocking first half performance. However, they improved in the second half before Leigh eventually sealed the game late on. Here are ratings.
Logan Moy – One or two errors, including a restart that went out on the full, but was also a threat in the second half and played his part in one or two tries. 5
Harvey Barron – Scored two tries and carried the ball well. Also an error or two but was busy and kept going. 6
Zak Hardaker – The veteran grew into the game and saw a lot of the ball in the second half. Set up a try for Barron late on. 5
Davy Litten – Was a threat close to the Leigh line and looked strong with his carries. 5
Tom Briscoe – Strong in the backfield. He’s a difficult man to put down and he won Hull some penalties. 6
Jake Arthur – A first half to forget, he wasn’t on the own, before a much improved display after the break. Linked with Sezer well and had a handy in tries. 5
Aidan Sezer – As above. His second half performance was good and he certainly responded to what Andy Last said at half-time. The challenge as skipper is to ensure Hull get that level from the word go. 5
Hugo Salabio – Given a start and certainly got stuck in. He was a aggressive and added some punch and venom to the Hull pack. 6
Amir Bourouh – Left the field in the first half. One or two wayward passes from dummy half. 4
Harvie Hill – Played big minutes and kept going. Looked to put himself about. 5
Joe Batchelor – Huge defensive workload, especially on kick chases. He led from the front and nailed some important tackles. 6
Ethan O’Neill – Played in the back row before a stint at loose forward. Ran hard. 6
James Bell – A disjointed first half but was much better in the second. An obvious theme here. 5
Herman Ese’ese – A tough start with an error but kept going and tried to drive Hull forward. 5
Cade Cust – Hull were much more energetic with Cust at dummy-half. There were some errors but he got out and ran and ensured there was efficient service in the second half comeback. 5
Yusuf Aydin – Left the field with a head knock and is now ruled out of Thursday’s derby. N/A
Lennon Clark – Scored his first senior try for Hull on his home debut. Doesn’t look out of place at this level, and for a young player, that’s all you can ask. Promising. 6
