Sauaso Sue says Hull KR “feels like home” after the hard-hitting prop agreed a one-year contract extension to keep him at the club for the 2027 Super League season.
Sue’s previous deal had been due to expire at the end of the current campaign, but the 34-year-old is now set to play a fifth season at Sewell Group Craven Park.
The 10-time Samoa international joined Hull KR from Newcastle Knights ahead of the 2023 season and has flourished under head coach Willie Peters.
He has established himself as an influential figure and firm fan favourite, playing a key role in the Robins’ recent success, which has seen them win every trophy on offer over the past 12 months.
“I’m happy to extend my stay with Hull KR. This club feels like home,” Sue said.
“I’m extremely grateful for the trust that’s been shown in me, and I’m excited to keep giving everything for the team, the staff and our supporters.”
Sue is set to continue his playing career in 2027 under incoming head coach Nathan Cayless, who will succeed Peters at the end of the current Super League campaign.
Cayless, who enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Parramatta Eels and New Zealand, has signed a three-year deal beginning in 2027.
Meanwhile, Rhyse Martin will leave the Robins at the end of the season before retiring after the World Cup with Papua New Guinea. He will then take up the role of football operations manager with incoming NRL franchise PNG Chiefs, where he will work alongside Peters.
Tevita Pangai Jr, Lee Kershaw and Zach Fishwick remain off contract as things stand.
