Hull FC aren’t expecting any of their long-term injured players to be back available for selection before August, Andy Last has confirmed. The Black and Whites are still without ten players due to injury, with only Davy Litten expected to be back in the imminent future.
The centre is out of Thursday’s game at York Knights due to a failed HIA suffered in the Magic Weekend derby but is expected to pass his return-to-play protocols in order to face Leigh Leopards next week.
“He’s okay,” Last confirmed. “He’s following his return to play protocols. He’s running wall this week. He’s a fit kid naturally anyways, Davy, so he should be into consideration for the Leigh game.”
However, for other members of Hull’s treatment room, it’s a lengthier process, with Arthur Romano, who injured his ankle on Good Friday at the start of April, thought to be the first to be available for selection again at this stage.
The likes of Ligi Sao (shoulder), Connor Bailey (collarbone), and Brad Fash (knee) are expected to be due back next month, while there are hopes that John Asiata (hamstring) and Sam Lisone (pec) will also return before the end of the year. Will Pryce, Will Kirby, and Joe Ward (all ACL) are out for the rest of the 2026 season.
Asked by Hull Live if any players are coming back this month, Last said: “On the horizon, no. It’s probably August for when the best-case scenario is for lads coming back. I think it’ll be Arthur Romano who is probably the closest one to returning. That’s where we’re at.”
Hull face Hull KR once again at the end of July, with seven games to finish the Super League season coming up in August and September.
