Willie Peters has revealed that he is set to make a late call on a number of his players ahead of Hull KR’s highly anticipated Super League blockbuster with Leeds Rhinos.

Oliver Gildart returns after missing the recent win over Leigh Leopards due to head injury protocols. However, his wing partner Joe Burgess is set to miss the upcoming Round 16 contest with a shoulder injury suffered in last week’s 22-8 victory.

“There was a possibility Joe could have played this week. I don’t think he will, we’ll give him a week and then see after that,” Peters confirmed.

“It’s just a shoulder injury. It’s not a major injury.”

Meanwhile, England international hooker Jez Litten continues to be a doubt due to an ankle complaint, while there are fresh concerns over props Sauaso Sue and Sam Luckley.

Heading into the round, Brad Arthur’s Leeds sit clear at the top of the Super League table, with Hull KR moving up to third, four points behind the leaders and with Warrington Wolves in between.

Providing a full injury update, Peters continued: “We’re going to have to wait and see where Jez is at.

“There’s Jez, Jesse Sue and Sam Luckley has a bit of a hamstring issue which we need to get a scan on.

“He (Sue) has got a niggle, he’s hurt his shoulder, which was from last week. We’ll have to make a call on him tomorrow.

“There are a few that we’re possibly waiting on, or that we’ll have to make a call on tomorrow so we go into the Captain’s Run knowing exactly who’s fit and ready to play.

“We’ll pick a team that can play without being injured or worried about injuring themselves or feeling something.

“It’s important we go into this week with a healthy squad.”
