A number of disturbing cases are covered in immense detail in the Netflix true crime docuseries
A new ‘chilling’ true crime series recently added to Netflix is already proving to be incredibly popular.
Murder Suspect is now included as part of the streamer’s extensive library. While it was only added late last week it has already claimed one of the top 10 spots in the most watched series among UK users.
According to the synopsis that appears on Netflix, the documentary series follows a homicide squad as they analyse evidence and confront suspects, aiming to uncover the truth in tense investigations.
The police force it follows is Humberside Police who cover East Riding of Yorkshire, Kingston upon Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire.

Specifically, episodes usually see each case escalated to officers and detectives working for the force’s major crimes division. The series includes a number of shocking and high profile cases in and around Hull.
This includes the daytime attack of a woman with an axe near a shopping precinct, a home invasion motivated by revenge that turns fatal, a vulnerable man beaten to death in his home and a fire that escalates to murder.
Originally broadcast on Channel 5 last year, the series is now proving popular among Netflix viewers. Each instalment follows an investigation in detail from the moment the first officer is on scene, to initial arrest all the way through the police conducting interviews and collecting evidence to the decision by the Crown Prosecution Service on possible charges.
This is incredibly similar to another popular true crime series, 24 Hours In Police Custody. The difference being that BAFTA nominated Channel 4 series follows Bedfordshire Police instead.
It includes extraordinary access to the detective team throughout each case as the series draws the viewer into the dark heart of murder investigations as the hours and minutes tick away, and where real life unfolds as the ultimate high stakes drama.
Those without a Netflix subscription don’t need to miss out as all five episodes of the series are still also available on Channel 5’s dedicated platform. Viewers who have already watched have spoken about how it has impacted them emotionally.
One person said they “watched it in horror.” While another added: “It was a shocking watch.” Someone else went so far as to say it is “as good as 24 Hours in Police Custody”.
Another person shared their recommendation to a Facebook group saying: “Fantastic insight into the fabulous work carried out by the police and investigators.” Someone commented “very hard hitting” and another warned: “You will hate the ‘no comment’ responses.”
Murder Suspect is streaming on Netflix and Channel 5.
