The two sides go head to head on Sunday at the Eco-Power Stadium

Hull KR and Warrington Wolves go head to head this weekend as they bid to book their spots in the Challenge Cup final.

The two sides met at Wembley last year, with KR edging out the Wolves to get their hands on their first piece of silverware in 40 years and kickstart their treble winning campaign.

The Wolves will be hunting for revenge then, while KR will have their eyes on a fifth trophy in 12 months having added the World Club Challenge to their haul earlier this year.

The Robins go into the game with a near clean bill of health, too, which will be music to the ears of Willie Peters.

The head coach will be checking on the fitness of Dean Hadley and Sauaso Sue this week due to their respective knocks, but both are expected to feature at the Eco-Power Stadium.

Hadley was withdrawn at half-time last week against Castleford Tigers through precaution and Sue missed the game for a similar reason, with the decision being made to give him a rest and avoid pushing him to the point of injury.

Indeed, Arthur Mourgue is the only real doubt for KR. Peters admitted the full-back could be ready to play in the semi-final, but it seems to be a race against time.

And, with Jack Broadbent performing reasonably well at full-back, taking the risk and throwing Mourgue straight back into such a big game would be a risk, whether he’s 100 per cent fit or not.

The Frenchman can be classified as a doubt then, but he’s also KR’s only real injury concern of note.

Warrington, on the other hand, will be missing a number of first-teamers this weekend in Doncaster.

Sam Burgess has confirmed that both Luke Yates and Josh Thewlis are pushing for a return to the side this week. Yates has been missing through a neck injury, while Thewlis has been struggling with a niggle.

However, the head coach confirmed the pair had a few more hurdles to clear before they could be considered to be in contention. Burgess might have some tough calls to make there then.

Arron Lindop is still missing with an ACL injury but he should be back in the coming weeks, Cai Taylor-Wray (ankle), George Williams (neck), James Harrison (ankle) are also missing while Adam Holroyd is still on the sidelines with a shoulder issue.

The squads for Sunday’s game will be confirmed on Friday afternoon.
