
Over 24,000 people watched rugby league in Hull.
A total of 24,419 people watched rugby league in the city of Hull this Bank Holiday weekend, with Hull FC recording 12,612 for their clash against Toulouse Olympique, and Hull KR posting 11,807 for Thursday’s game against Castleford Tigers.
The two Hull clubs were two of five to record five-figure crowds in Super League, with Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, and St Helens posting fair numbers. Elsewhere, Catalans Dragons were less then 500 short of 10,000, with the only poor crowd coming at Huddersfield Giants.
Leeds Rhinos recorded the biggest attendance of the round, with 15,145 at Headingley on Friday night to see their 40-22 victory over Wakefield Trinity. The victory ensures the Rhinos keep hold of top spot, with Maika Sivo scoring another Super League hat-trick.
Over the Pennines, Wigan Warriors saw 13,362 inside the Brick Community Stadium to end their four-match Super League losing run. The Warriors, debuting two more academy players, proved too strong for Bradford Bulls, earning a 38-14 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Hull FC recorded an attendance of 12,612 for their clash against Toulouse Olympique, with the French side running out 12-4 winners at the MKM Stadium on Sunday afternoon. On Thursday night, Hull KR saw 11,807 inside Craven Park as the Robins ran out 50-6 winners – their fifth successive win in all competitions.
In the south of France, 9,597 saw Catalans Dragons’ clash with Leigh Leopards at the Stade Gilbert Brutus, with the Leythers running out 33-18 winners on Saturday evening.
And at Accu Stadium, just 4,102 saw Huddersfield Giants’ 34-4 defeat to Warrington Wolves on Saturday night, with the Wire running out comfortable winners.
