The 33-year-old influential forward requires further checks on a potential injury blow.

Hull KR booked their place in the Challenge Cup semi-finals but were left with concerns over Dean Hadley, who did not return after the interval against York Knights.

The 2025 Super League Dream Team member was named to start at loose forward in place of injured skipper Elliot Minchella, who missed the tie with a hamstring issue.

Minchella is expected to return for the club’s Super League trip to Toulouse Olympique, but Hadley will require further assessment after potentially aggravating an eye problem originally sustained in the World Club Challenge in February.

“We’ve got to get his eye checked, just to make sure he’s okay,” head coach Willie Peters confirmed.

“I can’t say much more at the moment, but as soon as we know, we’ll share an update. He’s had that issue at the World Club Challenge, but he’s potentially had some contact to it.”

On Minchella, Peters added: “Elliot will be back next week. It was only a minor hamstring injury – a slight strain. He possibly could have played, but that would have come with an element of risk and we needed to be smart.”

Meanwhile, Rhyse Martin made his return from a broken foot suffered against Huddersfield Giants last month in the previous round of the Challenge Cup.

The Papua New Guinea international started in the back-row and converted four of his five goal attempts before kicking duties were handed over, with Peters explaining the decision.

“Rhyse just had a tight quad. He obviously had that injury last year, but he felt – and the physios felt – that he could play,” Peters said.

“His running was okay, but it was more around the kicking side of it. We needed to be smart there.

“I thought he started the game well. I thought before his injury, he started to find his feet.

“He probably had a slow start for his standards – but then he started to find his feet again. I like the way he started his game, and he’ll only improve and I’m looking forward to that.”

Peters also revealed that Karl Lawton pushed through an ankle injury to play in the 48-10 quarter-final victory over York Knights.
