A ward-by-ward list of candidates standing in the upcoming city council elections
Hull City Council has published a list of candidates standing for election on May 7. A third of the council is up for election, with votes being held in all but two council wards.
In 19 of the council‘s 21 wards, votes to elect a councillor take place in three of every four years. Two of the council’s wards only have two councillors, unlike the other 19 which have three. These wards, Kingswood and Ings, only elect a councillor in two years of every four-year period.
