A look at Hull’s nine out of contract players.

Hull FC have signed Zak Hardaker up to a new one year deal, with the veteran the latest player to extend his future at the Black and Whites into the 2027 season. But what comes next?

Nine current players are still out of contract at the end of the season and are free to speak to rival clubs. Some of those, like Yusuf Aydin, have aired their desire to Hull Live to remain at the club, who are putting the pieces together for next year and beyond. Here are those nine players in full.

Yusuf Aydin – The forward’s preference is to stay at Hull but he won’t be short of options. Hull Live understands at least one other Super League club have expressed an interest in the player. However, Aydin is a well-liked member of the squad and John Cartwright has also spoken of his own desire to see the player retained. The hope is a new deal will follow.

Tom Briscoe – The veteran back has a one-year option for the 2027 season and it would make a lot of sense to activate it. Briscoe, who turned 36 last month, is still a valuable player and has shown this season that he is more than capable of doing a job in Super League when called upon.

Jed Cartwright – The back rower is still in rehab after another significant hamstring injury. His quality isn’t in question, but his availability is. He must stay fit and get a run of games together when he returns to action. If not, a tough decision could follow.

Brad Fash – The testimonial man is only 30 and still has a few years left in him. He’s proven to be a valuable player under many different Hull coaches, and a new deal could follow.

Ligi Sao – The quota forward has gone okay this year having returned to action after a serious knee injury. He turns 34 in October and will be confident he’s got another season in him. Whether the club agree is still to be seen.

Hugo Salabio – The French prop is yet to feature this season and could be moved on.

Lennon Clark, Roman Dawson, & Ben Johnson – Three youngsters still to debut with the first team. Dawson has just made his return from back to back ACL injuries while Johnson and Clark have also been playing for the reserves.
