When a planetarium landed in Hull’s Victoria Square, we were lucky enough to be among the first visitors and have a glimpse at what it’s like inside the state-of-the-art dome.

With reclining seats, headphones and a 360-degree view, Planetarium Go offers an immersive experience that makes the distant reaches of space feel close enough to touch. Parents stuck for things to do in Hull over the Easter holidays can take any little astronauts to a range of family-friendly shows.

José Jiménez, CEO of Planetarium Go UK, told Hull Live: “We are seeing on the news a mission is going back to the moon. So it is the perfect moment for having a planetarium where people can expand their knowledge on what is going on in space.

“We have films about space exploration and cartoons for kids, so you are more than welcome here and enjoy the experience of the starry night in the centre of the city.”

For a closer look inside the planetarium and a sneak peek at one of the many films on offer, have a look at our video, above, and photo gallery, below.

Standard tickets cost £15, but discounts are available. Children under four years old can attend free of charge when registered with a paying adult, provided they sit on an adult’s lap (no separate ticket needed).

The planetarium will remain in Hull until Sunday 26 April. For more information and to book tickets, visit Planetarium Go Hull.
