Popeyes UK has announced it will be bringing its iconic Louisiana fried chicken to Hull with the opening of its first restaurant in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The new restaurant, located at Kingswood Retail Park, will officially open on Friday, March 13.
Marking its eighth opening of 2026, Popeyes will be pulling out all the stops, showcasing its New Orleans hospitality with exciting launch day giveaways for locals. The queue opens at 9am, and the restaurant will open at 11am.
The first four customers queuing on foot and the first four cars in the Popeyes Park & Serve bays will win the ultimate prize of free Deluxe Chicken Sandwiches for an entire year (entrants must be aged 18 or over, four free chicken sandwiches a week for 52 weeks).
Plus, the first 50 customers in the queue will be treated to exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise. The first 100 in the queue will bag a free Deluxe Chicken Sandwich.
Popeyes has become known for its round-the-block queues on opening day across the UK, with fans in nearby Leeds queuing for over 11 hours ahead of the city centre launch. To be part of the action in Hull, the team is advising hungry customers to arrive early to avoid missing out on the epic giveaways.
With dine-in and speedy takeaway options available, fried chicken fans will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes favourites like the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, Signature Wraps and the Saucin’ Boneless & Hot Wings range as well as Hand Spun Shakes.
Building on its core menu, Popeyes is turning up the flavour with its new Kickback Collection, centred around the brand’s signature smoky, tangy and pickle-y Kickback Dip. A true fan favourite, the dip has already seen more than 19.37 million millilitres sold since its introduction in November alone.
Rolling out nationwide, the Kickback Sandwich leads the line-up, featuring Popeyes’ iconic 100% fresh, Shatter Crunchin’ chicken, topped with smoked cheese, fresh pickles and the signature Kickback Sauce, all nestled in a soft brioche bun.
Also landing is the Kickback Box Meal, starring the Kickback Sandwich alongside a choice of two Tenders, three Hot Wings or four Boneless pieces, served with regular Fries, a drink and an extra Kickback Dip for maximum smoky, tangy enjoyment.
All Popeyes chicken is marinated for 12 hours in its signature blend of bold Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered to deliver that world-famous ‘Shatter-Crunch’.
The Breakfast menu will also be available 8am until 10am every day, and will even include a Breakfast meal deal for just £1.99 – consisting of the Chicken Brekkie Roll, a Cajun Hash Brown and a drink. The deal can be claimed exclusively through the Popeyes UK app, available to download here now.

The new restaurant will be located at Kingswood Retail Park, Althorp Road, Hull, HU7 3DA and brings 91 new jobs to the local area. Plans include 74 seats inside, self-service kiosks, collection points, and Park and Serve spots for orders made online via the Popeyes UK website or official app.
