The City boss has become increasingly frustrated with the inconsistency in the Championship
Sergej Jakirovic has renewed the calls for Video Assistant Referees (VAR) to be introduced into the Championship, after being left disappointed with the performance of Adam Herczeg on Tuesday night.
The referee frustrated both Jakirovic and his Derby County counterpart, John Eustace, for an erratic display at the MKM Stadium, as Hull City beat their play-off rivals 4-2.
Herczeg set the tone for a difficult evening when he booked Rams striker Patrick Agyemang inside two minutes for a second foul on John Egan, and then his assistant missed a clear offside when Craig Forysth turned in the first equaliser.
A host of other decisions on the light left both managers baffled before he dismissed City’s assistant boss Marko Salatovic late on for celebrating, while the Croatian also felt Oli McBurnie had no protection from the official.

Given what’s on the line in the Championship, Jakirovic has spoken out about the need for VAR in the second-tier sporadically throughout the season, and believes there is widespread support from other managers.
“Every time it’s poor when you concede, but it’s offside. It’s clear offside, and this changes the momentum of the game,” Jakirovic told Hull Live.
“I think that he lost control in the first half after his yellow card to No. 7 (Patrick Agyemang after two minutes) He must manage the game. Maybe it’s too much for him, too big a game.
“There is no consistency, and this is something I’m worried about. There are a lot of challenges, a lot of hands, a lot of pushing, pulling. We need VAR.
“It’s very simple, and I know every gaffer in this league wants this because I’m speaking with my colleagues. This is the Championship, we must keep this level. You can make an error or a mistake there. This is normal. This is human, but come on, there is no consistency. I didn’t feel consistency in this game.”
