A change in plans.
The fixture date for Hull FC’s Challenge Cup tie at Leigh Leopards next month has been changed.
The Black and Whites were drawn against the Leythers to set up a tasty looking last 16 tie earlier this month, with the game scheduled to take place on Friday 13 March. However, it will now take place on Saturday 14 March – kicking off at 3pm.
Hull defeated Championship opponents Salford RLFC to set up the fourth-round tie, with Leigh hammering last season’s League 1 title winners North Wales Crusaders.
According to Manchester United’s website, the football club’s under-21 side are scheduled to take on Southampton in a Premier League 2 match at Leigh Sports Village on Friday 13 March.
In a club statement, Hull FC said: “The club can confirm that despite last week’s fixture announcement, the match will now be played on Saturday 14th March at the Leigh Sports Village, kicking off at 3.00pm.
“The club have been informed by Leigh Leopards that the fixture cannot take place on the originally announced date of Friday 13th March due to logistical reasons relating to the venue.
“Following confirmation of the fixture details, the club will confirm full ticket and travel details in the coming days.”
