Organisers of the tenth Stage4Beverley winter festival have hailed it a great success – and next year’s dates have been announced.
Over half of the events for 2026 sold out in advance, including two performances by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, plus workshops in singing and poetry, and performances from the spoken word and music to dance. Performers of all ages took part in the week-long festival in a range of venues around Beverley.
They included the Parkway Cinema, East Riding Theatre, The Memorial Hall, Toll Gavel United Church, Beverley Library and Monks Walk Inn. In addition to the main events, workshops took place in Molescroft Primary School and Beverley High School, as well as The Millers Day Centre in the town.
Organisers said they were “delighted with the enthusiasm for the festival” that has grown in its status. They wanted to thank all those who helped to make it the success it was – “performers, volunteers, venues and not forgetting the audiences who supported it”.
A special thank you went to Kate Rusby and Damien O’Kane who stepped in at the very last minute to replace Sam Kelly, who was taken ill. “We all wish Sam a speedy recovery,” the organisers said.
Those who attended events are encouraged to complete a feedback survey, which can be found on the festival’s website at stage4beverley.com, and next year’s dates have been announced as February 7 to 14.
People can also join the festival’s mailing list by visiting the website, where they will be the first to hear of the line-up for 2027 and can book before events sell out.
