This award recognises someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in their service to gymnastics for 25 years or over. Their contribution in helping people enjoy and benefit from the sport may have been in a voluntary capacity or paid work in roles such as club leadership or administration, official, coaching, competitions, or events.

The British Gymnastics Awards recognise exceptional people and organisations that help keep gymnastics enjoyable, safe and open to everyone, making a positive contribution to individuals, local communities and wider society.

They also recognise British Gymnastics affiliated clubs that have not only excelled in promoting and developing gymnastics but have also made an outstanding contribution to their community, demonstrating a commitment to the long-term impact of the sport and delivering an uplifting experience for all.

Christine said: “I have been in gymnastics for about 40 years. I still thoroughly enjoy every aspect of it from the very new starters to the gymnasts who stay for years and develop their full potential.

“Their achievements still thrill me as much as ever they did. My passion for the sport has never waned. Your recognition is exciting and I am thankful for the recommendations which have been put forward.

“This has pleased me immensely. I am amazed. My first reaction was one of disbelief.”

From trailblazers and role models to those who tirelessly go above and beyond, the British Gymnastic Awards shine a spotlight on exceptional people and organisations that help keep gymnastics enjoyable, safe and open to everyone.

The awards will focus on those who have demonstrated a commitment to delivering an uplifting gymnastics experience for all and living our values for the sport of inclusive, aspirational and supportive.

This year, the awards will also celebrate British Gymnastics Foundation’s awards, recognising those who are transforming lives through gymnastics.
