Daytime closures are set to take place with ‘delays likely’ while the work is carried out
Repair work to take place at roundabout in Kingswood area of Hull
- Hull City Council has announced urgent resurfacing works for the roundabout connecting Blackwater Way, Kesteven Way, and Kingsbury Way in Kingswood to improve safety and road quality.
- The work is scheduled to take place over two days on Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30, provided weather conditions are favourable.
- To minimise traffic issues, the roundabout will only be closed during off-peak hours, specifically between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
- Motorists will be diverted via the Wawne Road roundabout and Pioneer Road while the closures are in effect.
- Footways will remain fully open for pedestrians, and emergency vehicles will maintain access through the area at all times.
- Local residents and businesses are receiving advance notice via letters, and information boards are being positioned on all approaching roads.
- The repairs, handled by PBS Construction (NE) Limited, aim to restore skid resistance and ensure a level surface for all road users.
- Councillor Mark Ieronimo, portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, said that the off-peak scheduling is a deliberate effort to balance essential infrastructure maintenance with the needs of daily commuters. He added: “Thank you, in advance, to local residents and businesses for your patience as we work to improve the highway infrastructure in this area of Hull.”
