City could be facing a busy end to the transfer window
Hull City playmaker Kasey Palmer is in talks with League One promotion-chasers Luton Town over a loan move to Kenilworth Road for the remainder of the season.
Palmer has struggled to make an impact since joining City on deadline day in 2024, having signed a three-year contract with a 12-month option. With just one goal in 37 appearances, he’s been restricted to just nine league outings this season.
The 29-year-old, who arrived from Coventry City, has returned from a knee problem in the past three weeks and made the squad at Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day. That was his first appearance since being taken off at half-time in the 2-2 draw with Preston North End on September 30.

Boss Sergej Jakirovic then questioned whether Palmer wanted to stay at the club after an issue prior to the win over Sheffield United, and then the ex-Chelsea youngster suffered a knee injury which sidelined him for a lengthy period.
Luton sit seventh in League One under Jack Wilshere and are outside the top six on goal difference, after going down on the final day of last season.
It’s understood Palmer is not expected to be in City’s squad at Deepdale on Tuesday night as he nears a temporary exit. Hull Live understands the Hatters do not have the option to make his move permanent.
Should City get a deal over the line to move the Jamaican international on, it will free up valuable space in their squad, which could open up a move for Rangers’ attacker Kieran Dowell.
Dowell has been a target for City throughout the winter and the Tigers remain keen on bringing the ex-Everton and Nottingham Forest player to the MKM Stadium from Ibrox.
City are keen to bolster their ranks in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window and snapped up Japan international winger Yu Hirakawa on Monday. That deal was done in time for him to feature at Deepdale on Tuesday night as the Tigers look to make it back-to-back away wins after seeing off Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday.
