The former Super League full-back has a new club for 2026.

Former Hull FC and Hull KR full-back Jack Walker insists he “still feels” like a Super League player and is eager to bring his experience to Oldham after signing a one-year deal with the Championship club.

The 26-year-old finished last season with Salford Red Devils, having made the move from Sheffield Eagles to return briefly to the top flight with the troubled club.

Walker could make his Oldham debut against the new Salford phoenix club in the Championship opener on 16 January.

“I am looking forward to getting back into that rugby environment,” said Walker, who won the 2017 Super League Grand Final with Leeds Rhinos.

“I think it will be a tough season, but I can’t see why we can’t go all the way. It will take me a little time to adjust but once we connect and click, it will look good on the field.

“I do still feel like a Super League player. I put my best foot forward at the back and of last season with Salford so I hope I can bring some value to the team and we can have a successful 2026.”

Walker brings a wealth of experience from both Super League and the Championship, having also previously represented Bradford Bulls in the second tier.

He made 20 appearances for the Black and Whites across two stints, alongside 10 for Hull KR in 2023, scoring five tries for the Robins.

“I’m really excited, Oldham finishing fourth last year which showed it is a quality side, so hopefully I can add to that this year,” Walker added.

“I’m always keen to learn – there are some quality players here and that’s what made me sign. I think we will be challenging for the top.”

Meanwhile, Oldham recently confirmed the addition of Alan Kilshaw as an assistant coach following his departure from Keighley Cougars, linking up with director of rugby, Mike Ford.
