Everything you need to know about Boxing Day opening in Hull
If you are out for a Boxing Day bargain this Christmas, you will need to know if, and when, all the main stores will be opening. Some retailers have in recent years decided to remain closed, to give staff an extra day’s break.
In many cases, however, it is time to reopen the doors and allow shoppers in as they hunt out all the post-Christmas bargains. Below are some of the local store opening times and information for Boxing Day 2025.
Boots – Some great offers on gift items can be found right after Christmas at Boots. Look out some of those discounts at the St Stephen’s shopping centre branch, open 10.30am to 4.30pm.
H&M – Looking for a fashion fix when the prices are marked down? H & M’s doors will be open at St Stephen’s shopping centre, from 9am to 5pm.
Currys – Needing a new kitchen appliance after Christmas? Or hoping for a good deal on a TV or laptop? Currys will be opening its stores at St Andrew’s Quay and Clough Road, in Hull, from 9am to 6pm.

Matalan – The sale racks and shelves at Matalan could well be stocked with reduced items after the ore-Christmas rush. Find out if there any bargains to be had at the Hull stores at Kingswood and Mount Pleasant, as they will be open from 9am to 6pm.

Next – Staff of Next stores will again get an extra day’s holiday with outlets across the UK closed on Boxing Day. The chain, which has stores at Kingswood Shopping Park and Anlaby Retail Park in Hull, will resume trading on Saturday, December 27.
Home Bargains – Stores in the Hull area including Prospect Street, Northpoint Shopping Centre, Kingston Retail Park and Quora Retail Park are all closed for Boxing Day 2025.
