Latest key updates on Hull and East Yorkshire planning applications and decisions

  • East Riding Council have received plans for a new padel site. Sites offering the chance to play the sport, which is the fastest growing in the world according to the LTA, have been popping up around the region in the last 12 months. This application seeks to turn an existing storage building at Benningholme Hall Farm, Skirlaugh into an enclosed padel court.
  • Plans have also been submitted to East Riding Council seeking permission to turn a former Methodist Church into two homes. The Church, on Greenshaw Lane, Patrington, has ceased, with the building having been sold by the Methodist Church, according to submitted planning documents. One of the dwellings will occupy the main chapel frontage whilst the other would occupy the former manse.
  • Hull City Council have approved an application for the installation of EV charging points in Kingswood. Two rapid charging stations will be installed in the car park of the McDonald’s on Gibraltar Road.
  • Outline plans have been submitted to East Riding Council for 8 homes in Beverley. The houses would be built to the West of Voase Way. A full planning application would likely follow if the council approve the outline plans.
  • Plans for a retirement living development in Bridlington has been approved by East Riding Council. The development on St John Street will consist of 15 apartments designed for people over 60.
