A main bridge connecting East Yorkshire to North Lincolnshire was closed on Friday as strong winds threatened vulnerable vehicles.
The A15 Humber Bridge in East Riding of Yorkshire was closed in both directions to high sided and vulnerable vehicles, National Highways said.
The 2.22km suspension bridge near Kingston upon Hull has a four-lane highway and pedestrian walkways, and National Highways warned of traffic delays.
Northbound diversion route:
- Traffic wishing to use the northbound A15 should head west on the A180 on to the M180
- At the end of this motorway join the M18 north
- At the end of that motorway take the M62 eastbound and then on to the A63 eastbound
Southbound traffic was told to follow the northbound route in reverse.
Further information is available on the www.trafficengland.com website, travel apps or via the regional ‘X’ feed. The 24/7 contact centre team is available to provide up to the minute information on 0300 123 5000, National Highways said.
This is a ongoing event and updates will be provided.
