The investment will see the holiday centre transformed in 2027
Skipsea Sands Holiday Park in East Yorkshire is set to undergo a major £5m transformation, with significant upgrades to its on-park facilities, activities and retail offer. By Easter 2027, guests will be able to book new activities including an indoor adventure climbing experience, indoor adventure golf and off-road driving experiences for children aged four and over.
Families will also benefit from expanded indoor and outdoor adventure play areas, a bounce park, sports court, and a Bear Grylls themed escape room. The investment forms part of site owner Parkdean Resorts‘ wider £70m programme of upgrades across its holiday parks in 2027.
Alongside a similar £6m investment at Thorness Bay Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight, Skipsea Sands will also become home to a new sports bar, Hat-Tricks, featuring interactive darts, pool and shuffleboard, alongside a range of food and drink options. As part of the development, Skipsea Sands will expand its food and drink offering with the addition of Scoops Ice Cream and Joe’s American Grill.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a new outdoor entertainment and dining space, complete with bar facilities and outdoor seating. The investment is set to boost tourism in the region while also creating new jobs, including both permanent and seasonal roles.
Parkdean Resorts operates four holiday parks across Yorkshire, employing more than 480 people across Barmston Beach, Cayton Bay, Skipsea Sands and Withernsea Sands Holiday Parks. The business also recruited for over 200 seasonal positions this year, supporting the local economy during the peak holiday season.
Steve Richards, CEO at Parkdean Resorts, said: “We’re committed to investing £5m in Skipsea Sands Holiday Park, upgrading our accommodation and further enhancing the holiday experience for guests and owners in East Yorkshire. From exciting new activities that include adventure golf and high ropes to an enhanced food and drink offering, there will be even more for families and holidaymakers to enjoy.
“This investment reflects our continued commitment to supporting local jobs, tourism and economic growth in the communities where we operate. We look forward to welcoming guests to a new and improved Skipsea Sands from Easter 2027.”
Parkdean Resorts owns and operates 65 holiday parks across the UK which welcomed over three million holidaymakers last year. The Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2026 has recognised 25 Parkdean Resorts parks for consistently outstanding guest reviews, among the top 10 per cent of businesses on the platform.
