The hall will invite guests to explore the festively lit trail for 15 days
As the nights draw in, Burton Constable Hall and Parkland is turning on the lights and gearing up to welcome visitors to the outdoor attraction Winterlight: The Tudor Glow. The hall will invite guests to explore the festively lit trail for 15 days between December 3 to December 23 2026.
Through this dedicated after-dark experience for Hull and East Yorkshire, the trail offers local families, couples, and groups a brand-new way to celebrate the festive season close to home. Spanning a 645-metre outdoor route through the estate’s parkland, Winterlight has dramatic architectural lighting, bespoke installations and projections inspired by the vibrant golds, crimsons, scarlets, and royal purples of the Elizabethan era.
Visitors can expect to take part in a self-guided walking route through illuminated woodland and glowing parkland paths. There will also be custom sculptures, light displays, and visual projections reflecting the history and craftsmanship of the Tudor age.
The Grade I listed Burton Constable Hall will also be bathed in light and seasonal refreshments will be up for grabs. Hot drinks, mulled wine, and festive bites will be available along the trail from a festive horsebox, alongside seasonal hot food at the Stables Kitchen.
Alasdair Hutson, chief executive of the Burton Constable Foundation, said: “Christmas is all about spending time with family and friends and making special memories together. We wanted to give Hull and East Yorkshire a magnificent festive light trail close to home.
“Whether it’s a family outing with the kids or an evening walk with friends, coming together under the winter sky with a hot drink and seeing Burton Constable transformed by light is going to be a brilliant new festive tradition.” Entry can be booked from 4pm on each day.
There will be timed entry every 15 minutes, with the last session at 7.15pm. The trail closes at 9pm.
An adult ticket costs £23.50, a child ticket is £18.50 and a family consisting of two adults and two children or one adult and three children is £75. There is free parking on site and dogs on short leads are welcome.
Advance booking is recommended to secure preferred entry times and dates. Tickets are available to buy through the Burton Constable website.
