A handsome young lurcher dog is in need of his forever home. Hull Animal Welfare Trust has issued an appeal, as poor Jasper is ‘really struggling in kennels.’

While Jasper might only be a year old, he has sadly already experienced a lot of changes in his short life. He originally came into the care of Hull Animal Welfare Trust as a puppy and initially found a home.

Sadly, he was returned at just seven months old, after ‘displaying typical puppy behaviours that unfortunately was not dealt with in the home environment’. Hull Animal Welfare Trust said that since then, he has been waiting for someone who can see beyond his struggles and give him a chance to thrive.

Jasper is described as a ‘sensitive soul’ who can be a little wary when meeting new people. However, when he gets to know you, you will ‘discover a loving boy who forms wonderful bonds with his people’.

He loves to play and has plenty of youthful character, but Hull Animal Welfare Trust said that he will need an experienced and patient home with someone who understands the needs of a young dog who may find life a little overwhelming at times. While Hull Animal Welfare Trust said he ‘won’t become the perfect dog overnight’, Jasper simply needs someone who will give him time.

A spokesperson for Hull Animal Welfare Trust said: “He has so much life ahead of him, we desperately want him to spend it learning how wonderful life can be.” Jasper could potentially live with another dog who is well rounded and confident. He cannot go to a home with children under the age of 16.

Anyone who thinks they could offer Jasper a home is asked to contact Hull Animal Welfare Trust. They can be reached via telephone on 01430 423986.
