The Robins will be adding to their squad in the coming weeks

Hull KR have incorrectly been named as one of three Super League clubs interested in a move for St George Illawarra Dragons forward Josh Kerr.

Kerr is contracted at the Dragons for next season, but according to reports down under, he could be allowed to leave the club this off-season with Super League the likely destination.

Rovers were one of the clubs said to be keen on the Australian, with Castleford Tigers and Catalans Dragons also credited with interest.

Hull Live understands KR won’t be making a move for Kerr though with any suggestion of interest in the forward being wide of the mark.

KR announced their first signing for the 2027 season on Tuesday as Moala Graham-Taufa put pen to paper with the Robins and at least three more signings are expected to follow.

However, while Rovers push to give Nathan Cayless the tools he needs as he attempts to push the club to the next level following Willie Peters’ departure, Kerr will not be one of the players joining the Robins. The interest in the forward from elsewhere in Super League is believed to be genuine though with Kerr still seen as one who could make the switch to Super League.

Kerr knows his way around the NRL having made 135 appearances in the sport’s premier competition and that includes 19 outings this season for the Dragons.

The prop, who can also play at second row and loose-forward, started his career with the Dragons and made 68 appearances for the club before making the switch to the Dolphins.

In three seasons with the Queensland outfit, he played 48 games and scored three tries before returning to the Dragons at the end of the 2025 season.

The Dragons are undergoing a big turnover in personnel this off-season and so far eight of their departing players have agreed to join Super League clubs, including Emre Guler, who has already linked up with Wakefield Trinity.

The likes of Damien Cook, Tyrell Sloan, Blake Lawrie, Hame Sele and Luciano Leilua will all be in Super League next season.
