The Robins have a raft of key men entering the final year of their respective deals at Craven Park
Hull KR have a number of decisions to make in the coming months as the club look to build sustained success in the post-Willie Peters era.
The Robins are preparing to welcome Nathan Cayless to the club in the coming weeks and it is understood that a handful of signings will follow him through the door at Craven Park as KR add fresh blood to their first-team squad.
Over the next few months, though, Rovers will have make a raft of contract and recruitment calls that promise to have a huge say on their success as a club moving forward.
As many as 10 KR players are about to enter the last year of their respective Rovers deals and that means big changes could be on the way.
With that in mind, here’s a look at who is currently set to be off-contract next year.
Tyrone May
Potentially the most important decision KR have to make is what to do with their half-backs. May is coming off what has arguably been his best season from an individual standpoint, but there has been talk of him returning to Australia in the past. KR will undoubtedly see where May’s head is at first before they start to consider their options to partner Mikey Lewis in the pivots during the 2028 season and beyond.
Peta Hiku
Hiku signed a new one-year deal this year and, despite his red card at Warrington Wolves last week, his performances have remained relatively consistent. The centre turns 34 in December, though, so KR will take a good look at Hiku in the opening couple of months of next season before they even contemplate the idea of moving on.
Jack Broadbent
KR’s Mr Versatile. No one played more than Broadbent this season but he still doesn’t have a clear home in the KR XIII. He’ll be hoping a fresh set of eyes could change things with Cayless set to look at things a little differently to what Peters did. However, given how useful he has been, KR will surely be keen to extend his stay.
Cobie Wainhouse
The young forward impressed at St Helens earlier this month and he’ll be hoping for more opportunities to prove his worth under Cayless.
Sam Luckley
Luckley will be heading into his fifth season with the Robins and having played a big role in KR’s success over the last few years, the 30-year-old will surely be highly thought of at Craven Park.
The prop turns 31 in November, but he knows his way around success now and he will feel as though he has plenty to offer moving forward.
Harvey Horne
Horne made three appearances this season having struggled to force his way in under Willie Peters. However, he is still only 21 and he knows where the tryline is having scored a hat-trick for KR in the win over Lock Lane before repeating the feat on loan at Doncaster and scoring three more at Goole Vikings too this season.
Frankie Dearlove
One of KR’s most highly rated youngsters, the club will surely be keen to wrap up his services before too long.
Dean Hadley
The 34-year-old was absolutely vital to the way Willie Peters played and the forward was even named in Brian McDermott’s preliminary England squad earlier this year. He’ll likely have a big role to play under Cayless next season but given his age any further contract extension wouldn’t be for more than a season or two.
Sauaso Sue
Like Hadley, Sue is 34 and he has been playing through pain at times too, this season. He was pivotal during the treble winning campaign but his influence faded as this year wore on and while he keeps himself in good shape, eyes will be on how he starts the 2027 season, no doubt.
Louix Gorman
Had a couple of chances towards the end of the campaign and got over the line against Toulouse Olympique. He’ll certainly be hoping to give Cayless some food for thought over pre-season.
