A planning application for 25 bungalows close to Hull KR’s proposed sports village has been submitted.

The homes would be located on part of a former school and college site known as Newton Hall, on land west of Hemswell Avenue in East Hull, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The development, for a social housing provider, would be made up of single-storey and dormer units.

In June, KR submitted an application to build a retail and sports village to redevelop the area around their Craven Park stadium.

Each property would have a single parking space, with additional parking provided for visitors.

Despite the council’s standards requiring two parking spaces per dwelling, the developers claim the plans were appropriate, while ensuring sufficient space for landscaping and tree planting.

According to the LDRS, the application site borders three proposed full-sized rugby pitches, which are part of KR’s plans.
