The former Tigers loanee has joined the list of players without a club
Malcolm Ebiowei’s career continues to struggle following his release from his contract at League One side Blackpool after barely a month with the Seasiders.
Boss Steve Bruce, the legendary former City chief, has cut ties with the 22-year-old winger, who only arrived at Bloomfield Road on August 5, playing just three times off the bench, owing to a personal matter.
Ebiowei spent a short period at the MKM Stadium under Liam Rosenior, but did not live up to the hype after he arrived on loan from Crystal Palace in January 2023. He had also spent unsuccessful spells at RWD Molenbeek in Belgium and City’s Championship rivals, Oxford United.
“Blackpool Football Club can announce that Malcolm Ebiowei has left the club by mutual consent. The club wishes Malcolm all the best for the future,” a recent statement read.
City spent a period trying to get the former Derby County winger to the MKM Stadium, with Rosenior working with him at Pride Park, but his move proved underwhelming.
He played just 519 minutes across 12 appearances, though he was limited to just five starts and failed to register a single goal or assist in his disappointing spell in East Yorkshire.
“Malcolm, we have to remember, is a young player with so much potential. It’s a shame for us that he never realised his potential here with us,” Rosenior said after he returned to Selhurst Park.
