A third of Brits name doughnuts as a go-to treat in the car
Doughnuts have secured a spot in the UK’s top five road trip snacks, with three in 10 Brits (31%) choosing them as their go-to treat ahead of other options such as pastries, sausage rolls, protein bars and fresh fruit.
Whether ring-shaped or jam-filled, doughnuts ranked fifth in a new poll by IMO Car Wash.
Crisps, however, took the crown as the nation’s number-one road trip snack, with nearly two-thirds of respondents (64%) picking them as their favourite. Sandwiches (56%) and sweets (55%) followed closely behind.
But while doughnuts are popular, they’re also seen as one of the messiest snacks to eat on the move. One in three people (32%) admitted they can be a challenge to clean up in the car.
