‘I really enjoyed it and would do it again next time’

A care home in Beverley has got down and dirty taking on a challenge to raise money for charity. Members of the team at Care UK’s Beverley Parklands had a secret weapon in their midst in the shape of resident Isobel Sayer.

She was up for racing the Pretty Muddy obstacle course in Beverley to support Cancer Research UK and with six members of staff joined in a “Muddy Mayhem” obstacle course of inflatables, a maze of pillars, a rope swing drop and, of course, the final mud pit.

The Beverley Parklands team climbed, crawled and slid their way around the 5k course to raise an impressive £842 for a cause close to their hearts. Isobel said: “I really enjoyed it and would do it again next time.”

Samantha Atkin, home manager at Beverley Parklands, said: “Completing the Pretty Muddy obstacle course is a huge achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Isobel and the team members who took part. The fearlessness, hard work and dedication they have shown is a true reflection of the values here.

“Challenges like this bring people together and we are delighted to support such a brilliant cause in Cancer Research UK. We would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment and donations to such an important cause.”
