The Robins face off against Warrington Wolves on Saturday night

Willie Peters is confident that the Super League play-offs will bring out Tom Amone’s best as Hull KR push to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Robins travel to Warrington Wolves on Saturday evening in the first round of the play-offs and a win would take them to within 80 minutes of a third Grand Final in three years.

KR will need their pack to step up to the plate if they are to edge out Sam Burgess’ side and Amone, who has been one of KR’s strongest forwards this season, will have a pivotal role to play.

The prop will likely start at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and having seen him excel in the past for Leigh Leopards on numerous occasions in the biggest of games, Peters expects to see the best of the forward at Warrington.

“I think probably like the whole team, he’s had some really good days and some days that he would probably want to improve on,” the Rovers boss said on Amone. “I’m looking forward to what Tom does now. This is the business end of the season and Tom’s a big game player.

“He’s played in some big games now and he plays big minutes. You’ve just got to look at his minutes to see whether he’s coming off the bench or whether he’s starting to see what I think of Tom Amone and how much I value him as a coach.

“I want to make sure Tom finishes the season off the way I know he can because if he does that we’ll be in a strong position. As I said before, when he’s been at other clubs and played in big games, he played against us in the Challenge Cup final, he was one of the better players.”
