The new Hull FC recruit has opened up on his move to the club and what he hopes to bring to the side next year.

Jordan Swann is looking to ‘execute with quick hands, strong fends, and right foot steps’ at Hull FC next year, having signed a two-year deal with the club for the 2027 season and beyond.
As first reported by Hull Live earlier this month, Swann had been identified by the Black and Whites as a key centre signing, with the position an area of interest for incoming head coach Steve McNamara.
Hull have now got that deal completed, with the 24-year-old set to ply his trade in East Yorkshire next season.
Currently playing in the Queensland Cup with Wynnum-Manly Seagulls, Swann has scored 10 tries in 13 appearances this season. He previously spent time in the New South Wales Cup with Sydney Roosters and Manly Sea Eagles, not to mention North Sydney Bears and Newtown Jets.
The Sydney-born centre is Hull’s fifth new recruit for 2027, following on from Daly Cherry-Evans, Alrix Da Costa, Bailey Hodgson, and Isaac Liu.
“I can’t even begin to put into words what this opportunity means to me,” Swann said of his move to Hull FC. “I can’t wait to get over there.
“Steve [McNamara] reached out to my manager and things just went from there. I’ve wanted to come over to England and play rugby league in the UK for quite a while now, so when the opportunity came up, I just grabbed it with both hands.
“I’ve heard all about the fanbase over there and I’ve heard nothing but good things. I’ve seen a few videos too and it looks crazy. I just can’t wait to come over and make everyone proud.”
On what he hopes to bring to the side, Swann added: “As all outside backs will tell you, I like to work hard out of the backfield, but when we get into good ball, I like to execute with quick hands, strong fends, and a right-foot step.”
Meanwhile, Hull FC Chief Executive Richie Myler believes Swann, who is hoped to be one of two centre signings for 2027, is playing some of the best rugby league of his career to date this year.
He added: “Centre is a position we have identified for 2027 that we need to strengthen and add depth to, and Jordan will form part of that.
“Through the conversations that we’ve had, he’s really excited for a new challenge in his career and he comes across as a really hungry individual, so we’re hopeful that he will be a great addition to our squad.
“He’s playing some of his best rugby right now this year for Wynnum-Manly in the Queensland Cup. We’re all hoping that he can bring that confidence over to England with him.”
