A driver went the wrong way down the A63 after ramming a police vehicle. The incident happened at around 3.30am on Wednesday (August 19), police have reported.
Armed Response Officers from Humberside Police spotted a vehicle “believed to be linked to a disqualified driver and wanted man” while on routine patrols in the area.
When approached by officers, the driver “reportedly rammed the police vehicle before fleeing the scene and travelling the wrong way down the A63 towards Hedon”. No officers were injured.
The same vehicle was spotted again at around 4.15pm on Thursday (August 20) on Hessle Road, in Hull. It was stopped later in the afternoon close to Humberside Airport.
The driver, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop when requested by officers, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and, after a road side drugs wipe, was further arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
The man has since been released on conditional bail pending further investigation.
