Hull City head coach Sergej Jakirovic says the club will pick the best option of three available at right-back after making an approach for Torino defender Marcus Pedersen, as conversations over more new arrivals continue.
The Norway international, who played for his country at the World Cup, is on City‘s list, with the Tigers already seeing a bid in the region of 5m euros knocked back.
It’s expected that the Premier League newbies will return with an improved offer for the 26-year-old, who is thought to be keen on the opportunity of playing in the Premier League, while the East Yorkshire club do have a couple of alternative options.

“He’s a good player, he played in the World Cup, but we have three options there, so we will choose who is the best for us,” the City boss told Hull Live.
Jakirovic also says conversations continue regularly with owner Acun Ilicali and chief executive, Mustapha Yokes, about the status of bids that are in for players, though he admits, as always, money dictates the progress.
“We talked with Mustapha (Yokes, chief executive), I think Mr Chairman went to watch Olimpija against Maribor (after the game), but we are on the phone every day. It’s a good connection, and we are speaking about all positions, all the possibilities, so we will see. It’s about finance always.”
The City boss says he was pleased to see the return of Joe Gelhardt, with his move back to the club from Leeds United confirmed on Saturday. Gelhardt is currently sidelined for a couple of weeks with an ankle problem, but his permanent return has generated plenty of excitement amongst supporters.
“We know everything about Joffy and Joffy knows everything about us,” the Croatian continued. “He feels very nice here and I hope that he will bring us some good statistics.”
