Australian international defender Lucas Herrington is closing in on a move to Hull City, with the 18-year-old set to make a big move to the Premier League.
The teenager caught the eye playing for the Socceroos in the World Cup and looks to be on his way to England after City agreed terms with MLS club Colorado Rapids.
Herrington had been linked with moves elsewhere in Europe, but City has been in talks with the centre-back for a while and believes they’re edging closer to completing a deal.

Rated highly, Herrington only joined the MLS club back in January when he arrived from Brisbane Roar, and rose to stardom when he appeared in the World Cup, though unfortunately, he missed a penalty in their shoot-out defeat to Egypt.
Despite reports suggesting the deal could cost City more than £20m, Hull Live understands the fee is significantly less than what has been widely shared across parts of the media.
The Tigers are also edging ever nearer to striking a deal for Norway Under-21 midfielder Jens Hjertø-Dahl, who currently plies his trade with Tromsø.
A third move is well underway, too, with the Tigers in talks with upcoming friendly opponents, Nice, over a move for talented winger Mohamed-Ali Cho. The 22-year-old Frenchman is one of City’s top wide-man targets, and the club remain locked in discussions with the Ligue 1 side over a deal for Ali-Cho.
A former Everton youngster, Ali-Cho represented England at youth level after moving to London shortly after his birth, but opted to represent France.
Previously, he’s played for Angers and Real Sociedad in La Liga, and is eying a move back to England with the Tigers keen to make a deal happen.
City have moved on from Burnley midfielder Florentino Luis, after the Portuguese opted to seek a permanent move to another club, rather than agree a season-long loan switch to the MKM Stadium, and it’s understood the club are considering pulling out of the deal to sign Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey.
