The Pride in Hull 2026 parade made its way through the city on Saturday morning, kicking off a full day of events to celebrate love, unity and inclusivity. The parade was the first in a long line of events to celebrate pride – in what was Pride in Hull’s 25th anniversary celebration.
The parade showed the best of what Pride has to offer, with countless rainbow flags, butterfly wings, unicorns and even a puppet depicting Jesus wearing a rainbow sash. Groups from across the city were represented and the sun was shining.
Throughout the day, nostalgic pop acts entertained revellers on the main stage. Steps star Claire Richards, pop duo The Cheeky Girls, and nostalgic pop group Fast Food Rockers are all on the bill. The main stage, in Zebedee’s Yard, also featured a performance from Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner (Season 5) Ginger Johnson plus sets from Coco, Miss Fanny, Sheila Diamond, Kerry Ellis, Xtina Live and Zara.
The parade made its way through Hull with all the brightness, lightness and camaraderie that could be expected from a Pride event. Scores of people took part and many more looked on as the rainbow-themed parade made its way around.
Organisers billed the event as “the biggest Pride in Hull event to date” with pop stars, choirs, drag artists and parades on the set list. There were performances on the main stage from Hessle Theatre Company, State of the Arts Academy and the NHS Choir. The balcony of Hull City Hall came alive with live DJ sets. Pop-up dance performances and giant chess took place at the Rose Bowl at Queen’s Gardens.
A community market filled King Edward Street and Paragon Street, while community groups had a chance to shine at Queen Victoria Square. Ferens Art Gallery was home to the Pride in Hull family area, featuring Jeddy Bear and Gary, and AB Dance School, and circus skills with Tiny Circus and a Sax Rave were on offer.
