Smiling drug dealer Thomas Crombie boasted about his lucrative enterprise selling Class A drugs on the streets of Hull and posed for a photo layered in banknotes in bed. His girlfriend Marley Hadfield, took the photograph.
She ran his enterprise when he suffered an ankle injury in a cycling accident and could not meet clients. As reported, the photograph was shown at the sentencing hearing for the two drug dealers.
A video was also shown at Hull Crown Court of Hadfield bragging about her success in the sale of Class A drugs on city streets. The evidence was shown before the pair were sentenced for drugs offences.
Crombie and Hadfield, both admitted their role in supply of Class A drugs. It followed a raid by Humberside Police who seized £10,000 of drugs of Class A, B, and C, along with £10,000 cash. Crombie also admitted acquiring or possessing money as criminal property and possessing cannabis at Carden Avenue, Hull when police raided the home on June 12 last year.
Crombie, 23, of Taylor Avenue, Hull and Hadfield 22, of Bainton Grove, Hull were sentenced by judge John Thackray KC. He said Hadfield was a willing participant in the enterprise, despite her pleading that she was “manipulated” by Crombie.
Defence barrister for Crombie, Richard Butters, claimed: “There was no evidence that he was controlling her – and the female was a point of contact for people who wanted drugs. They are jointly concerned.”
Judge Thackray sentenced Crombie to 27 months in prison and Hadfield was given a two-year suspended prison sentence, with 200 hours’ unpaid work and 15 days’ rehabilitation.
