Hull City’s players won’t have concerned themselves with the club’s bid to try and avoid a potential Financial Fair Play punishment, according to former promotion winner Robert Snodgrass.
City had been frantically trying to recoup £6m to ensure they remain within the permitted losses when they submitted their accounts for the year ending June 30.
The sales of Ivor Pandur and Under-21 starlet Aidon Shehu to Rangers and Panathinaikos ensured the Tigers can look forward to the exciting Premier League campaign without any fears hanging over their heads.
Now that worry has been dealt with, it’s full steam ahead for the Tigers, as their recruitment drive for the new campaign gets underway in earnest.
“Hull City‘s players won’t be concerned,” Snodgrass told talkSPORT Bet. “I feel that stuff like that is political. The fans believe in the club, and the chairman (Acun Ilicali) spoke after the playoff final about how well they have recruited and how much he trusts the manager 9Sergej Jakirovic) and the players.
“He (Ilicali) wants to support them. They will get that sorted, and I’m sure the players are just looking forward to starting in the Premier League.
“They want to add quality personnel based on character and togetherness, because that was the foundation they were built on. Now that they can sign players, will they recruit that level of player or look toward the worldwide European market?
“I believe there are a lot of lads in there who will help whatever additions come in. The Premier League is a different ball game. You need top quality to win matches. The defence is good, but there will be games where you are out of possession for long periods, so you need those bits of quality.”
