Former Arsenal and Chelsea ace William Gallas has stressed the importance of Hull City bringing in experienced players to add to the dressing room ahead of their Premier League return.
City will get their top-flight campaign underway on August 22 when they welcome Manchester United to the MKM Stadium, and by then they’ll hope to have made significant progress in the transfer market, with sources suggesting new arrivals could start arriving in the next 10 days.
The Tigers are hunting young, athletic players to supplement what Sergej Jakirovic already has at his disposal, but there is a desire to add a couple of players capable of having a similar impact to what we saw with Granit Xhaka at Sunderland 12 months ago.
In Semi Ajayi, John Egan, Paddy McNair and Oli McBurnie, City do boast players who have operated at the top level before, but Gallas is keen for the Tigers to add more between now and when the window closes at the beginning of September.

Gallas, who famously scored the winning goal against City for the Gunners in the FA Cup quarter-final in 2009, reiterated the need for the Tigers to strengthen the experience in their squad.
“Hull City next season? If you don’t have the right players for the Premier League, it’s going to be really difficult. When you are promoted, you have to bring in players who have experience in the top flight. The Premier League is not the Championship,” the former Chelsea title winner told talkSPORT Bet.
“I didn’t play in the Championship, but the Premier League is about quality, technique, and quick decisions. Those who go up need a plan for how many experienced players they want to bring in. Experience is so key.”
