Championship side Norwich City have expressed interest in signing Hull City defender Ryan Giles ahead of the new season, though it’s understood the move looks unlikely.
Giles was one of City’s big success stories in a season that saw the club promoted to the Premier League last month, and the player is desperate to stay at the MKM Stadium and fight for his place in the top flight.
City’s left back, who arrived from Luton Town in a £4m deal two years ago, looked to be on his way out of the MKM Stadium twelve months ago, but was reinvigorated under Sergej Jakirovic and enjoyed a stellar campaign, despite twice being hit by hamstring injuries.
The Canaries want to bring Giles to Carrow Road as Phillipe Clement looks to plot a course to promotion next term after a strong finish to the Championship campaign in the second half of the season.
Hull Live understands there is no deal to be done, at this stage, with Giles thought to be intent on remaining in East Yorkshire, as the club embarks upon their first campaign in the Premier League for a decade.

Giles is not the only Tigers’ player attracting admiring glances from potential suitors, with Kyle Joseph and Ivor Pandur the subject of firm interest from clubs both here and abroad. David Akintola, Abdus Omur and Abu Kamara are also the subject of interest from elsewhere.
The club continue to work on outgoings before the end of the month, with sources suggesting they are ‘in the last stages of the process of moving players out’ to ensure they do not fall victim to any potential penalties.
