Popular noodle bar, Chopstix, is set to open its second location in Hull. The pan-Asian chain first arrived in the city last year with its site on the corner of King Edward Street and Jameson Street.
The brand has been popping up in various cities in recent years. In addition to its Hull city centre site, the chain has noodle bars in nearby cities including Leeds and Lincoln.
Chopstix is now set to add another site in Hull to its ever growing list of locations. The chain is set to open in St Stephen’s shopping centre in the unit formerly occupied by Wok&Go.
Wok&Go, another noodle bar, closed its St Stephen’s site at the start of this year. It had been a longstanding part of the Hull shopping centre, having been in the unit since 2013. In January, St Stephen’s Shopping Centre confirmed Wok&Go’s lease had been formally terminated with it understood to be due to issues relating to rent payments.

Signage for ‘Chopstix’ has now appeared in the former Wok&Go unit with signs suggesting the new noodle bar will open this month. Jim Harris, centre manager at St Stephen’s, said: “Chopstix will be a fantastic addition to St Stephen’s, reflecting our continued commitment to bringing sought-after brands to the centre. As one of the UK’s best-known quick-service restaurant brands, it will add further variety to our dining offer, giving visitors even more choice when they spend time with us.”
The King Edward Street Chopstix, located next to McDonald’s, has seemingly been a popular addition to the city centre. It regularly seems busy during peak hours both on weekends and throughout the week.
