A vacant city centre site could become an EV charging hub

- Plans have been submitted to Hull City Council for an EV charging hub in Hull city centre. The proposals seek to turn a vacant piece of land on the corner of Osborne Street and Anne Street into a charging hub with 12 parking spaces. The scheme would include six charging points, each capable of charging two vehicles. Plans say the project “would bring back into use a vacant brownfield site that currently has a negative impact on the quality of the surrounding built environment.”
- East Riding Council has approved the change of use of a Cottingham garage to a hair salon. The garage of 16 Morris Croft is set to be used as a salon. A council report into the application states the salon is anticipated to be used by the occupier of the existing property.
- Hull City Council has approved plans for 25 bungalows to be built near Craven Park. The homes are set to be built off Hemswell Avenue, to the east of Hull KR’s stadium. The homes border the site of the planned Craven Park retail development which could include an Aldi and a Home Bargains.
- Plans to demolish the Henson Villas in Pearson Park have been approved by Hull City Council. The three buildings on the south eastern corner of the Hull park are said to be in a “very poor condition.” The 1950s-built blocks each house eight units, which were originally built to house single women.
