Hull is getting a trading card and collectors show, created by organisers with a genuine passion for the hobby. The Geek Experience Card Show is only the second event of its type to be held in the city.
It will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, Ferensway, on Sunday, June 28, from 9.30am to 6pm. A spokesperson for the event organisers, Luck Box, said: “This is something big in Hull, as it’s only the second card show in the city, and our first time of putting this event together.
“We’re expecting a very large footfall, with the venue being the DoubleTree by Hilton. It’s a card show made by collectors, for collectors, created by local lads with a genuine passion for the hobby.
“It’s a true community-led event – not a travelling show – something special built for Hull.” The Geek Experience Card Show will bring 100 vendor tables to the fore, featuring the likes of Pokémon, One Piece, sports cards and much more.
“Whether you’re a serious collector, casual fan, or bringing the family, this is a Hull-based show with heart – and one you won’t want to miss,” said the spokesperson. “This event has been years in the making.
“We wanted to create something special for our home town where collectors of all ages can buy, trade, relax and enjoy the hobby together.” Whether you are hunting grails, sealed products, or bargain singles, there is something for every collector.
Guests for the day include Robert Matthew Davies, who designed a range of Lorcana artworks, and amazing content creators, Feya, Chloe Hill, Mub Mob and more. There will be family-friendly foyer entertainment, with cake stalls, comics, 3D prints and unique traders (under-fives go free), plus event-exclusive food and a bar. There will be an after-show trade night, from 4.30pm.
