City can now look forward to a pair of games against Alex Neil’s side for a place at Wembley

Hull City will look to make it three successful play-off campaigns from three when they kick off against Millwall in the first leg of their semi-final on Friday night.

Saturday’s come-from-behind win over Norwich City was enough to claim sixth place at the expense of Wrexham, who had only usurped them a couple of weeks earlier.

Oli McBurnie’s brace took his tally to 17 for the season in the Championship, and his goal will be welcome when the Tigers take on Alex Neil’s Lions at the MKM Stadium, before heading to The Den on Monday for the return.

Classed as one of the relegation favourites at the start of the season, City have surprised many with their consistency this season, and deservedly ended their regular season inside the top six.

Speaking on the latest episode of the 1094 Club podcast, both David Prutton and David Burns both agreed that City had been largely overlooked this term, and were fully deserving of the finish they enjoyed.

Joining Tigers reporter Barry Cooper, the trio gave their verdict on who should be the Tigers’ Player of the Season, summed up the campaign and looked ahead to the semi-finals, with both clubs set to fight it out for a place in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium later this month.
