Five people charged with murder were brought before Hull Crown Court today

Five people – including two twin sisters – accused of murdering 53-year-old Martin Chadburn after a disturbance in Hull have made their second court appearance in two days. The five were brought before Hull Crown Court after appearing yesterday at Hull Magistrates’ Court.

They appeared in the secure dock and each spoke only to confirm their date of birth. They were not asked to enter pleas.

Before the court were 20-year-old twins Britney Naylor, of Dibsdane, Orchard Park estate, north Hull, and Bethany Naylor, of Deerhurst Grove, Bransholme, Hull. Also in court were Kristjan Suits, 34, of Queens Road, Hull, as well as Lucasz Matusiak, 27, of Needlers Way, Hull, and Shaytoyia Doherty-Moore (previously named by police as Shaytiya Farrow), 21, of Peter Street, Blackpool.

Prosecutor Adrian Strong said that the estimated length of a trial in the case was four weeks, with just over a week allowed for the prosecution case, which includes CCTV evidence. A trial would be likely to be heard in either September or November.

A further hearing has been arranged for August 7. The five appeared before the court in custody and were further remanded in custody.
