The venue will reopen later this spring under new management as House of Finnigan’s

Yates will open for the last time under that name on Easter Sunday, as a new publican prepares to transform the Old Town bar into an Irish darts pub called House of Finnigan’s.

The news was confirmed by the owners, Stonegate Group, who said Yates in Trinity Wharf (not to be confused with the former Yates Wine Lodge in Paragon Street ) will close following trade on Sunday, April 5, as the site transitions into the Group’s leased and tenanted division.

The venue will reopen later this spring under new management as House of Finnigan’s, operated by local publican Alex Jeffreys. It is expected to open in early May.

Stonegate said the new concept will bring a “fresh look and feel to the site”, including interactive darts, live music, and a “strong sports offering”.

A Stonegate Group spokesperson said: “We’d like to thank all of our fantastic team and loyal customers at Yates Hull for their support over the years.

“The venue has been a well-loved part of the local community, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has visited and worked there.

“We’re pleased the site will continue to operate as a hospitality venue under new management, and we wish new publican Alex every success with House of Finnigan’s.”

A Facebook post by Yates Hull said all staff were being kept on, with the exception of general manager Rebecca Garlick, described as a “big loss to our team”.

The venue’s incoming publican Alex Jeffreys said: “House of Finnigan’s is Hull’s newest Irish hangout – fresh, modern, and full of good energy.
