Our player ratings after Hull KR’s 26-20 defeat to Catalans Dragons.

Hull KR suffered late heartbreak in Perpignan as Catalans Dragons scored last-minute to secure a 26-20 victory, after the Robins mounted a spirited second half comeback after finding themselves 20-6 down at Stade Gilbert Brutus.

Here are our player ratings.

Jack Broadbent – 4: A moment of brilliance followed by a moment he’ll want to forget. The full-back sliced through Catalans late on in what would have provided crucial drop-goal territory at 20-20. However, his loose offload was collected by the Dragons, who scored a few plays later.

Tom Davies – 5: The winger does the tough stuff, but hardly had a chance in Perpignan to add his third try of the season.

Peta Hiku – 5: A handful of strong runs, but he’ll be disappointed after being beaten by Zac Lipowicz for the Catalans back-rower’s second try.

Oliver Gildart – 6: Slick hands to set his winger free to start Hull KR’s fight from behind, before breaking away and finding Litten in support which led to a penalty goal for a high shot on the hooker to make it 20-20.

Joe Burgess – 6: Took his try well – his third of the season – after beating Catalans full-back Charlie Staines on the outside with a break. Started the comeback, but Catalans scored late to secure their third win of the season.

Mikey Lewis – 5: Converted four from four in the absence of Rhyse Martin.

Tyrone May – 7: Good footwork to avoid Romain Navarrete to score the game’s first after nine minutes, on his 100th Super League appearance. He was no match for a charging Chris Satae in the lead-up to Catalans’ second try, but a slick grubber kick to assist Amone to keep Hull KR alive in the game.

Sauaso Sue – 5: 5: An opening 18 minute stint with the game balanced.

Jez Litten: 6: A couple of nice moments, and won a penalty that Lewis converted to make it 20-20.

Dean Hadley – 6: An absolute workhorse in defence, but Satae got through him and May in the lead-up to Catalans’ second.

Tom Whitehead: 5: Another decent outing for the off-season signing, starting in the absence of Rhyse Martin. He’ll want his hands on the ball more, though.

James Batchelor: 5: Plenty of tough work, but didn’t seem to have too many opportunities in attack.

Elliot Minchella – 6: A lot of defensive work before being replaced by Whitbread – but he’ll be disappointed after biting in on Alrix Da Costa, with the Catalans hooker assisting Romain Navarrete to score for 20-6.

Tom Amone – 7: Immediately added a punch from the bench with a strong first carry and offload. Had loads of time to collect a delicate kick from May and score Hull KR’s third to make it 20-18.

Sam Luckley – 5: On early in the second half and did a decent job.

Jai Whitbread – 5: Another to do his job from the bench, but didn’t add much-needed spark.

Bill Leyland – 5: On in the second half and immediately made a threatening run, but only a short stint in Perpignan.
