Hull City transfer news from HullLive amid speculation about Regan Slater’s future after an impressive season with the Tigers

Sheffield United are considering trying to bring Hull City’s Regan Slater back to Bramall Lane.

That’s according to Sportsboom who claim the 26-year-old has ‘caught the eye’ of Blades boss Chris Wilder after his latest industrious showing for the Tigers.

That came against Chelsea’s multi-million pound midfield and was his 34th of another impressive campaign, which has seen him come through the pack to start the last 23 Championship matches.

That has taken his total to 217 appearances since moving to the MKM Stadium in 2022 – from Sheffield United.

The Sheffield-born player came through the Blades academy and Wilder handed him his first professional contract when he became the club’s youngest ever goal-scorer in 2016.

He would go on to play just three times for the Blades before moving to the Tigers first on loan and then permanently four years ago. Wilder was a big proponent of Slater’s when he introduced the teenager to his team nine years ago, describing him as ‘made in Sheffield’.

This season he has worked his way through a crowded position group against the likes of John Lundstram, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Darko Gyabi, Matt Crooks and Eliot Matazo. Intriguingly he is out of contract in the summer; although the Tigers do hold the option of another year.

According to Sportsboom, Wilder is ‘giving serious thought’ to the prospect of working with Slater again, with much depending on how Sergej Jakirovic’s men fare in their promotion push.
