First created in 2021 by Avenues resident Rhiannon Beeson, the trail began as a way to give families something safe and joyful to do during lockdown. This is the Fairy Trails’ 5th anniversary in the HU5 area, with 59 homes signed up and six events taking place. Rhiannon said: “I’m so delighted to see almost 60 homes across our community sign up for this year’s Fairy Trail. I always love seeing the pride people put into making this event magical for children and families right across our area. “This year, alongside the free fairy trail, there are so many fantastic events taking place in our community. I’d encourage everyone to take part in the events hosted by Artlink, Oasis and the Art Factory.

“It’s also brilliant to see the Fairy Trail form part of the amazing Our City event with our own snow globe in Person Park. It’s fantastic to see so many people in the local community coming together to create such a wonderful week.” Ten-year-old Holly Smith, a regular attendee of the Fairy Trail, said: “I’ve been coming to the Fairy Trail since it first started when I was little, and I still love it every year. There are always so many different things to do, and it’s really exciting finding new fairy houses that weren’t there before.”
